Proud Grandpa

Okay, does grandpa look proud or what. Mark enjoyed holding his new grandaughter at the hospital today. He was happy that both Sheena and Gabriella were doing well.

Here's a picture of me with the new baby. You forget how small they are when they are first born. She is a sweetie.

Here's a picture of Auntie Shantel and her new neice. I think Shantel will be more than happy to babysit for her neice. Gabriella is so small. She slept most of the time we were visiting at the hospital.

New Baby

Well, the day finally arrived and Sheena had her baby. Little Gabriella (not sure on spelling) was born today, Monday February 19th at 4:05. She weighed 6 pounds 13 ounces and was 18 inches long. Both mom and baby are doing well, although Sheena is really tired. She went into the hosptial to be induced last night, and was in labor throughout the day. Then the doctors said the baby was becoming stressed, so they performed a c-section this afternoon. Below is a picute of the baby only 3 hours old.

Little Red Riding Hood

Yes, it is Little Red Riding Hood. She has grown up a bit though. This was last Monday at school. It is February "I Love To Read Month", and as part of our school's celebration of reading we had 'dress as your favorite story book character.' I was racking my brain trying to come up with something, then I remembered I had a jacket that had a red lining, so I turned it inside out and lo' and behold, I was transformed into 'Little Red'.

New Baby Arriving Soon!

Here's a picture of Sheena that I took just yesterday. She is SO ready to have that baby. It will be here within a week. The doctor will induce her if she hasn't had it by next Monday. We are all excited, especially Sheena!

Special Breakfast Pancakes

I do enjoy the grandchildren, and I enjoy making their time here special. So today, being it was Nana's Valentine Weekend Party, they got pancakes in the shape of ......... yes hearts! They love to get the special pancakes and it's my joy to watch them sit around our table enjoying their breakfast and sharing laughter. It was a great weekend, and I am already looking forward to Nana's 3rd Annual Valentine Weekend!

Nana's Valentine Weekend

Last year I had our grandchildren living in the area over for a Valentine party. Well, had to keep up the traditon, so this past weekend I had Braiden and Emma from Big Lake and Kiara from Bowlus here for Nana's 2nd annual Valentine Party. Last night we had cookies and hot chocolate. Braiden was a little taken back at first, because 'he wasn't going to a tea party.' I told him it wasn't a tea party, just cookies and hot chocolate, and he seemed alright with that. Emma was wondering if Grace and Michael were coming. She doesn't understand the distance thing yet between Minnesota and Michigan. I do wish they were closer, would love to have them all for a night again. Well, we also decorated cookies for the kids to give to their parents.

Refrigerator Magnet Fun

I came home one day to find the pictures of our grandchildren dressed with the clothes from a snowman magnet set I had boughten. I just had to take a picture. Shantel and a friend got creative one day. What fun!
